City testing new parking meters with app payments

Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) – New parking meters in Rochester have been installed in spots around the city to test app payments.

The new meters are set up with their own app to allow payment via smart phone. Two different companies are responsible for the new meters.
The meters are in place for a trial period through December 8. Anyone who uses one or both styles of parking meter, along with the phone app, is encouraged to give their feedback here.

Each is marked with a sticker encouraging users to fill out the survey. It also has information on how to download the app to pay for parking.

The new meters can be found around Washington Square Park, near the Little Theatre, on Fitzhugh Street near City Hall, and on West Broad Street between Fitzhugh and Washington Streets.
